University Gallery, Loughborough - "Flame Paths" - Anagama exhibition with new work from Stephen Parry, Dave Scott, Jim Gladwin, Paul McCallister, Dick Lehman (USA) and Ben Brierley.
The Symposium on Anagama linked to this show will feature presentations from Dick Lehman(USA); Micki Schloessingk;
David Scott and Michael Robinson and will be a forum to discuss the
aesthetic and practise of high temperature wood fired ceramics.
Focus will be on the perspectives given by Dick Lehman(USA) and Micki Schloessingk
as professional makers. David Scott will give an overview of the
educational context and the experience gained by Ben Brierly, Jim
Gladwin and students in building and firing downdraft and cross draft
kilns and the development of fluxed clay bodies.
The collaboration with Stephen Parry
and Paul McAllister at the Anagama kilns at Wysing Arts and Rufford
will also be discussed and the work from these kilns will form the
exhibition in the University gallery to accompany the symposium
