Current Work

The work is either reduction fired stoneware using mainly wood-ash glazes, salt-glazed in my large wood-fired kiln at the Whichford Pottery, or soda-glazed in my gas kiln here.

Technical Information

Reduction-firing: down-draft gas kiln, 30cu. feet. Reduction fired to cone 10, with mainly ash, celadon and tenmoku glazes.
Salt/soda-firing: wood-fired kiln, 90 cu feet; gas kiln, 40 cu feet; various slips as well as tenmoku and celadon glazes.

Availability: Pottery open Monday to Saturday 9.30am. to 5.00pm. and Sunday 10.30am. to 5.00pm. Visitors are welcome, but it is advisable to telephone first if travelling any distance. Closed some Sundays in Winter.

Directions: The Cotswold Pottery is tucked away from the well trodden tourist track through the village. Yet it is only 5 minutes walk from the main carpark, and has limited parking for visitors. There are also regular bus services from Cheltenham and Moreton-in-Marsh, which both have main line train stations.
