Current Work
Current work includes sculptural and/or functional garden/conservatory pieces and some decorative domestic ware. Some of the most recent output has been larger scale work particularly for a garden setting. Many of these are planted and can be up to 2m high. Much of the work incorporates landscape-based abstraction that reflects and responds in particular to the Lakeland Fells that lie on his doorstep and on which he enjoys walking and climbing. Technical Information
Craft-crank is used, fired to 1250°C in oxidation, where glaze is used it is invariably matt with colour coming from metal oxides and high firing slips. On occasion multiple firings are employed to allow for further refinement of the 'painted' surface.
