Artists Statement
Ancient pots are important because of their historical value. From
excavated pots and vessels archaeologists have been able to deduce lots
of details of the every day life and religious rituals of ancient
cultures. Current Work
Thrown porcelain vessels, and wall pieces, burnished, treated with
terra sigillata and coloured with sulphates; fired in a saggar.
Technical InformationHigh biscuit firings (+/- 1100°C) in electric kiln. Saggar firings in a gaskiln at 600°C to 900°C. History
Studied graphics and ceramics at art schools in Antwerp and Hasselt
(Belgium). She participated in ceramic workshops with known ceramists
like Takeshi Yasuda, Antonia Salmon, David Miller, Dave Roberts, Peter
Lane, Arne Ase, Tjok Dessauvage and many others. Exhibitions
